If the Setting Tool Won’t Start or Connect

See this page if the tool will not start or cannot connect. If you suspect the device is faulty, contact us below and we will explain how to arrange a repair. Repairs are available for customers in Japan only.

Fix 1. Review your security software settings, including the firewall
Firewall or security software settings can prevent the tools from starting. Review your settings, for example by adding this tool to the safe list. (For how to do this, see the manual for each product.)

Fix 2. Change the connection port (Windows only)
[How to change the COM port]
(1). Press Windows key + X and choose Device Manager
(2). Under Ports (COM & LPT), double-click MH-Delta (shown as Arduino Leonardo or MH-Device(Arduino))
 (3). Port Settings ⇒ Advanced
(4). Change the COM port number to one that is not in use (20 or above is recommended)

Fix 3. Not all Setting Tool files may have been extracted
Security tools can prevent some required files from being extracted.
Delete the Setting Tool once, temporarily turn off “Real-time protection,”
and extract the Setting Tool again. After the Setting Tool starts, turn real-time protection
 back on.

How to turn off real-time protection

Windows key ⇒ Settings ⇒ Privacy & security
⇒ Windows Security ⇒ Virus & threat protection
⇒ Virus & threat protection settings ⇒ Manage settings
 ⇒ Turn off Real-time protection
 ⇒ Extract the Setting Tool

Fix 4. Install the Arduino IDE
Download it from this page ⇒ Arduino Download
After installing, restart the OS and try connecting the device.

Fix 5. Install the .NET Desktop Runtime (old setting tools only)
If the tool does not run, install “.NET Desktop Runtime.”
